Prognosis of anasarca also depends on the cause; can be reversible or a long-term disease 

• Infectious or drug-induced anasarca is a good prognosis because treatments, such as drug withdrawal or antibiotic administration, can reverse the impact of anasarca 

• Chronic illness- induced anasarca, such as severe renal disease, heart or liver failure, can have a poor prognosis because of the severity of the underlying cause
